41 People Injured in Brooklyn Bus Accident Involving Driver Who Allegedly Fled From Police
Forty-one people were hurt in a recent public bus accident in Brooklyn. According to Fire Department of New York Battalion Chief Mike Breslin, the driver of a sports car was allegedly fleeing from police when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Albany Avenue and Herkimer Street. A Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus carrying dozens of passengers was reportedly unable to stop and collided with the vehicle on the driver's side door.
Following the crash, emergency responders were forced to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver of the sports car and his passenger from the accident wreckage. Both men sustained severe injuries in the collision. In addition, 10 bus passengers were reported to be seriously hurt and 29 others were treated for minor injuries. Breslin stated none of the injuries were deemed to be life-threatening.
